Military Medical Research Program

Military Medical Research Program

The Samu Eli Institute’s Military Medical Research program represents one of the most comprehensive efforts to investigate and implement integrative medicine approaches within military healthcare settings. The program addresses critical health challenges facing service members including chronic pain, traumatic brain injury, post-traumatic stress, and resilience optimization.

Research initiatives within the program have evaluated acupuncture for battlefield pain management, mind-body approaches for PTSD, nutritional strategies for performance optimization, and healing environment modifications in military medical facilities. These studies have generated substantial evidence supporting the integration of complementary approaches within military healthcare.

The program has established partnerships with major military medical centers and the Department of Defense, facilitating the translation of research findings into clinical practice guidelines and training programs for military healthcare providers.

Through rigorous research and practical implementation, the Military Medical Research program continues to advance evidence-based integrative approaches that enhance service member health, readiness, and quality of life.
